What is d6 AI Assist for Parents?
AI Assist is a smart, conversational assistant that gives you instant answers to your school-related questions, 24/7. Think of it as a knowledgeable school helper in your pocket. Just type your question and get a clear, accurate answer immediately.
It is important to understand that AI Assist can only respond to questions if the information has been posted by the school. If the information is not available, you will not receive an answer. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the schools to send messages and provide sufficient information, which, in most cases, they do.
What kinds of questions can I ask?
AI Assist can answer any question if the information is in the App, but this can be divided into two main types of questions:
- School Information: Ask about upcoming events, school policies, term dates, or homework details. If the school has shared the information, the AI will find it and send you a link to the original message.
- App Usage Guide: Get quick answers to questions about using the d6 Communicator App. For example, if you need help connecting to multiple school communities, or if you’re not sure how to make a payment.
Is the information accurate and safe?
Yes. d6 AI Assist retrieves answers exclusively from the official content your school has shared. It does not browse the internet or invent information. The assistant operates within the secure d6 environment, maintaining the same high data protection, aligned with POPIA and GDPR regulations.
Where do I find it?
Open your d6 Communicator App and look for the AI Assist feature at the bottom of the screen. If your school has enabled it, you are already set up.
Is AI Assist not available in your app? This feature must be activated by your school. Please contact your school’s administration if you would like to have AI Assist enabled.
