For those who didn’t know, we’ve always had two apps. And, when both apps looked and worked the same once opened, having two options only caused confusion.
Originally, the two apps were created for different purposes, but as the years passed and the product evolved, those differences disappeared.
Because everything we do at d6 is guided by research and real feedback from schools and parents, your input has played a major role in shaping our next step.
To simplify your experience and offer something even more powerful, we’ve officially phased out the d6 Connect app and shifted all our innovation to the new and improved d6 Communicator.

Here’s what you should know about the transition – and why the d6 Communicator is the only app you’ll ever need.
One App, One Experience
The primary reason for this shift is simplicity – and listening to your feedback. We want to ensure that every parent, teacher, and administrator enjoys the same high-quality experience. By moving to a single platform, we eliminate the “two-app confusion” and bring all school communication, resources, and data into one powerful central hub.
We’ve also enhanced the d6 Communicator, making it better, faster, and more user-friendly than ever before. Based on extensive user feedback, in November 2025, the d6 Communicator received a major upgrade to its UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience). You can read more about that here.
By focusing our resources on a single platform, our development team can now roll out new features and security updates much faster. This move allows us to innovate more aggressively and provide the world-class communication tool that our schools and parents deserve.
What Does This Mean for You?
For parents using the d6 Connect app, it is time to switch!
All the school information you rely on is already available in the d6 Communicator.
For schools, there are no changes required on your end. Simply prompt parents to download the d6 Communicator so they don’t miss any messages or updates.
